Minister of Foreign Affairs Jaushieh Joseph Wu March 11 thanked members of Advanced Taiwan We Go Team from Taipei Medical University Hospital for helping combat coronavirus in the Kingdom of Eswatini March 11.

Wu said altruistic acts and services of the team have demonstrated to Eswatini the depth of Taiwan’s friendship and the passion and expertise of its medical professionals. The health and well-being of people in the Africa ally have greatly benefited from the team’s contributions, he added.

Wu made the remarks while receiving a delegation of Advanced Taiwan We Go Team members at Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Taipei City.

According to Wu, the government will continue supporting Eswatini’s response to COVID-19 while deepening bilateral friendship and expanding collaboration, the ministry added.

In a tweet on its official Twitter account, MOFA wrote “Heroes come in many guises. Our gratitude to the Advanced #Taiwan We Go Team from #Taipei Medical University Hospital for combating #COVID19 in the Kingdom of #Eswatini. The selfless sacrifice of these committed professionals saved lives & bolstered bilateral ties. Thank you!”

Taiwan and Eswatini established diplomatic relations in 1968.The countries have carried out numerous collaborative projects in such areas as agriculture, education, health care, information and communication technology, rural electrification and women’s empowerment, according to the MOFA. (DL-E)
