Calligraphy practicing

At the invitation of Riga Children’s Hospital, the Taipei Mission in the Republic of Latvia has organized a special exhibition of selected paintings from “2018 Taiwan and Baltic School Children’s Art Exhibition” at the Hospital’s Sun Library since March 12.

On March 20, a creative workshop on Taiwan traditional arts was held in the Library, attended by dozens of out-patient clinic and hospitalized children.  Staff of the Taipei Mission demonstrated paper-cutting and calligraphy practicing for children and parents.  And by engaging children in the fascinating traditional arts, the workshop had helped soothe and distract children from pains and stressfulness.  Ms. Indra Veismane, Director of Education Department of the Riga Children’s Hospital and parents expressed appreciation to the Taipei Mission.

Last year, Ms. Sintija Bernava, Manager of Social Inclusion Project at Riga Children's Hospital handed over two art paintings by hospitalized Latvian children to the Taipei Mission, which were transferred to the Children's Department of the National Taiwan University Hospital to show their blessings to hospitalized Taiwanese children.
